My academic background consists of a bachelor's degree in Communication from Texas A & M - Commerce and a graduate degree in Elementary Ed and Educational Administration from the University of Arkansas. My professional background includes work in merchandising, education, and community development. I am also a veteran, having served a decade in the United States Air National Guard, making Staff Sergeant before separating from the service. From an educational perspective, I worked as a writing, math, and reading tutor and was a developmental writing instructor at Eastfield College. Eastfield is a two-year community college in Mesquite, Texas.  I have developed breadth and depth as a tutor because of my teaching experience, especially in reading and writing. Those subjects are my passions, and I carry this passion into how I tutor. For example, I have used my expertise in these areas to help many students in their preparation for the Graduate Record Examination and for standardized testing. In those situations, I learned the critical importance of understanding students' individual styles of learning, as well as the variety of resources and tools available, to help ensure their success.
